The beginning.........
I bought the 150 model from a junkyard in PA. He would save old cars, fix them up to running condition, and then sell them. This was back in 1985. Not much rust, but it had a 1 piece fiberglass nose. I still have the 283 it came with. This was the very first engine I rebuilt; o4o over forged TRW's, mild cam and file fit rings. Since then I have built many different makes of engines, 4,6 and 8 cyl.
This car has been through some traumatic changes, since I have owned it. It has been a tremendous learning experience, too.
The idea behind this website was to share my photos with friends. If you have any questions please e-mail me at k[email protected]. I also hope you can learn something from my accomplishments, and mistakes. If you are going to mail me and make all sorts of criticisms and remarks, I will not be offended. You will just be proving to me that you have no idea what it is like to build a car yourself, on a budget. To all those who know how many times the cutoff disc shattered and almost hit you in the face, I salute you!
The blank pages will eventually be filled with more pics.

Wow, it runs!
Before my Dyno days, this is how I confirmed the first engine I built worked with no mechanical issues. I built this engine after being ripped off by an engine shop. They sold me a Hi Perf 350 030 over street engine back then, which I later ripped apart. Their "hi perf" engine belonged in a stock Suburban or something. Back in 1986, I was screwed by them. "They" will remain nameless. A few years later, I started a side business and eventually bought an engine dyno. Speed Research was born, and lived in New Hyde Park, NY for 3 years. It was nice when I had taken some of the business away from the Crook who sold me that 350 back in '86.
Speed Research lasted 3 years. I used to get a lot of business from the street racers that would run in the Bronx (Hunts Point) and by JFK Airport in Queens (North Conduit Ave). Until one night, cops raided the JFK races, and more than 30 cars were impounded, never to be seen again. My business slowed considerably. Some guys from Canada bought my Dyno outfit.

Dyno Room
I had headers for every type of engine that came through the door. If not, I made a set.
Grenade proofed room....
Concrete block walls; fireproof door; controlled air flow to the room; computer and signal converter out of the picture. Engine pictured was a Ford 351 Windsor with Cleveland heads. It used a one off manifold made for this unique combo, since Cleveland blocks are hard to find. This engine went into a faded Blue 1978 Fairmont station wagon. Yes. It used to run at JFK and make money. I remember riding in that car. After 2nd gear. you were able to see over the hood . That car was a real sleeper.
