My headers are 1 3/4 inch tubing, with port matched flanges. Tubing is from Stahl Headers. Since the engine was setback two inches in this car, I needed to make my own set. I also wanted to tuck the pipes as close to the crossmember as possible. All of the tubes on my headers are within 2 inches of each other in respect to length. You can plan on how the pipes will run with wire or hoses, held in place with tie straps or twistie ties.If you have the money, there is a kit out there with plastic or foam segments that fit together and help you form a shaped tube. Usually Formula 1 teams use this tooling. It is also expensive.
Nor do you absolutely need Tig welded headers. I started to Tig these, and amazed myself how good I was at it. What I did not like was how much time it took me to do 1 tube of joints. Brazing headers works just as well. The entire header was going to be wrapped
